Belize vs Montserrat

June 14th, 2011 · 4 Comments

Still trying to nail down the final details, and the Aruba/St. Lucia matches got pushed forward so they haven’t happened yet. But Montserrat and Belize kick off 2014 World Cup Qualifying tomorrow in T&T (Montserrat generally isn’t able to host its home matches because of problems with facilities).

Anyhow, based on past results, this isn’t much of a contest based on the ratings and 10,000 sims, this one goes to Belize 99.96% of the time and Montserrat 0.04% and as of now the system probably underrates big favorites like this slightly (I’m working on this).

Then again word is Montserrat has searched Europe for players and may be bringing a better team than they normally field. Will that matter any? Probably not, but it’s worth knowing anyway.

As for the full set of sims, I’m working on the final details of how I’m going to do it this cycle (there’s a lot of complicated factors involved) and hope to have news by the weekend. Once that’s done I’ll let you know exactly how this is going to work. Thanks for your patience.

Wow 99,96 % (even slightly underestimated!!) that’s really a lot!

Nevertheless I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Montserrat!

Wow, I’m amazed Montserrat is able to field a team at all given the devastation on the island.

Montserrat has begun! And you have begun!

Now I hope you will proceed!!

The qualification will proceed inevitably on June 29th 2011! Among them some exotic encounters like Nepal against East Timor and the Big-Bang Bangladesh vs. Pakistan (No 8 vs. No 6 in Worldpopulation see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population)
More Inhabitants are represented in this match than in the Gold-Cup Semifinal USA vs Panama and far more than in the other Semifinal Mexico vs. Honduras .

Only the Gold-Cup final will have more people represented. No match in Europe can represent more inhabitants than this match in Dhaka!

I hope you will have your nationalteamranking ready before the start of the Asian worldcupqualifying!
